Having heard of it just a day ago, I did read about it. Seams like very nice technology.

I am only interested in SACD capable portable CD players.

I guess the first question is, how much does a portable player cost? I might get one, but it's totally depentdant on cost. Are there brands that are better? I'm not interested in the high end, just the lower to middle ground

As a note:
I have grado SR-60s and Sennheiser HD280 Pros. I don't want seperate amplifiers for them.

Thanks,
Karl

DOH!

I couldn't find any. Was hoping someone here knows of them. How much would a standalone component piece cost?

Do you mean a full sized component?

If so... look for the Sony base level components (Should be models from XE680 onwards) for SACD playback - should be about $250 I think? probably cheaper on the FS forum here

or as far as components go (on the cheap end anyway) grab a pioneer 563a, it is a universal player (dvda/sacd) with burr-brown 192b DACs for the audio, it retails for around $170. If you are looking for something more high end, there are a lot of options, and I would almost suggest going to avsforum.com as you will get as much information there about audio and video as you will get here about headphones.
