I can regconize the delay too, about 1-2s in both DAC and DAP mode :frowning2: sound is good but this delay make me feel annoyed
Is this an error?

I have the delay too, like you, in both modes also. Hopefully it can be solved with a new firmware.
I still waiting for LME49720HA, Is out of stock in my country.

Received my Z1 this morning, using it since as a DAC on my Windows ME system (should work fine on Windows 98 too). I am having that song playback start and seeking delay too but only when I use ASIO (Asio4All) output, with DirectSound output playback start and seeking is instantaneous. I haven't tried it on my more modern systems yet (Windows 7) but I'd suggest trying different output modes (Eg Direct Sound, Kernel Streaming, WASAPI, etc) in players that let you do that for that delay issue.

I am amazed by the sound quality this device produces, it's as good or nearly as good or perhaps even better than my internal Juli@ soundcard, I gotta properly ABX the line out output to that of the Juli@ to make sure which is best which is something I didn't quite expect and is an excellent surprise...

Hi all,
Just bought one of these DAPs and loving the sound so far. I agree with the comment some time earlier about it having that warm british hi-fi sound.

A few questions:
Are there any detailed instructions for it's operations?
- From having a play with it, I am guessing pressing and holding play until it flashes rapidly and then pressing next and previous change the EQ?
- Also how to you put it in shuffle mode?
- How do you reset the EQ?

Also I am looking to get in to the op-amp rolling game and went to purchase the LME49720HA from rs-uk but was told the item has stopped being manufactured. They are providing the LM4562HA instead:
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/opera...3743D37363134373633267374613D3736313437363326

Have I been done over or is this a reasonable amp as well?
Cheers

I've just noticed that Zishan Z1 doesn't read OGG files on DAP mode.
EDIT: Or it's only me cause on usb DAC it works...
Please add compatibility with OGG files in the next firmware :)

Btw, I prefer NE5532AN over stock opamp NE5532 for a less in-your-face sound, a wider and airier presentation.
LME49720HA in the coming days I hope.

Hey¡¡ One question

I'm thinking about changing my Takstar HI2050 for another open-back Over-Ear headphones, just for listening to music at home.
My main candidates are the AKG K612 PRO, the Sennheiser HD 558/598, and the Grado SR60e.
Some of them, specially the AKG, will need amplification, so... do you think that the Z1 will have enough power for these headphones?? Cause is the only amp I have -.-"

All of your function questions can be answered on page 19 of this thread. Yes the LME49720HA has been discontinued, but DigiKey has, last time I checked, around 600.

Nobody else trying other capacitors and output resistors? Or other fancier stuff?

I will be doing some experiments on my Z1, once I reassemble my Walnut v2.

Great :deadhorse:

I remember you spoke of replacing the pot. 2/3 down on this page maxkur shows a new one (RK097), and I think the following posts describe that the direction changes, but not sure if something is lost in translation.

I've changed all caps in both of mine now, 4 x nichicon kz in the second one, and output resistors gone in that one too. I can't find any negative effect from removing the resistors completely when used with 32ohm buds, but I don't know what to listen for. If the risk is that the bass is rolled off it seems not; I've played some testtones and with emx500 I get 20Hz quite clearly and at the same level on both z1's. And nothing gets warm inside.

Edit: sorry did'nt realize I have 220uF at the output of the one with no resistors

I have the possibility to buy a good price (second hand) the oamp Burson V5i-D. I read here several opinions that the sound is not too good in Zishan Z1.
It's a good idea to buy it if LME49720HA is coming (but I don't know when)?
