hey guys, after years with just standard in ear head phones , I've decided to up my game and spend some dough on some quality headphones.
honestly i still can't differentiate the differences between mid lows and highs , still not quite understanding them.
still learning day by day though , so these are things i want to use my head phones for?

Budget : less than 250 dollars
Rig : phone and laptop
File format : Apple lossless
Genre: blue , punk, rock, edm, classical, everything that catches my attention
Headphone : around ear

I'm stuck between M50x , bose sound true and sennheiser momentum
not planning to use an amp though
hopefully you professionals can help me out !
thanks in advance !

Those are all great headphones, if you want another option i would definately look at the vmoda m100s. You can get them new for 200 sometimes on ebay

I'd recommend Audio Technica ATH-AD900Xs. Open back will give you a much better sound stage then M50Xs. They don't have the greatest bass in the world, but it should suffice for your music tastes.

Sennheiser Momentum M2 (same as previous version, just more comfortable earpads, original one was terrible for medium to large ears after an hour or so).

V-moda M100.

NAD HP50.

And there are other open back recommendations that can be made.

Stay away from the Bose and the M50x, better headphones can be had for $250. All not needing any amps.
