OK, at this moment I do not have a lot of detailed information. However the following is on its way to me.

I just can't wait to get my grubby fat hands on it. Speaking of fat I asked the Good Doctor to use the older style of volume knob.

This is very exciting. BTW the following pics show what I am talking about.

As I learn more and get to play with it I will post results.

Well I just confirmed with Dr. Xin that the amp is basically a mega version of Supermicro-IV, in a metal case and super long battery life. It uses 4 AAA which will provide enough voltage for all headphones. It does not have any fancy features, just for the purest sound possible. Its circuit is the same as Supermicro IV. BTW it does have Dr. Xin's 4 Channel design.

You think you will get it before 2007 Christmas

I would love to hear your impression when you get it.

You would think he'd fill current orders before working on this sort of thing...but it will be fun to read impressions next year when it comes out

Actually he has been shipping out amps. But I understand that in his passionate pursuit of perfection he goes on tangents. Personally I think it is exciting that since he solved the power supply issue on 4/11 he devoted some of his time to achieve the Xin Reference Amp. Be advised that my previous sentence is all my opinion without any input or knowledge from Dr. Xin.

ChickenGod, I have not listened to the amp nor has any posts been made by anyone else in Dr. Xin's website. Regardless, be very happy the Supermicro IV has been an excellent amp and IMO the best. I have only listened to the pre 4/11 Supermicro IV, the one you will be getting sounds better so enjoy it.

Now lets go back to enjoying the music!

Kinda looks like a supermacro LE cap with a supermicro circuit

I did not want to speculate, but I was thinking the same.

I foresee a vast e-mail flood towards Xin after the review is done.

I can't wait to hear how it's like as well.

I have mixed feelings about this. From the design it might not be possible to swap opamps. Maybe that is what he had in mind. With all the backorder it would be nice if Dr.Xin clears it out first and concentrate on new amps.

In any case, I'm Looking forward to your review miguel.
