I found this image on Fujiyama-Avic special website for Headphone Festival Fall 2017.
Is anyone know the details of these cans?

It looks simply like an open backed Edition 8 Ex. So probably $2K to $3K range. One question is whether it will be a limited edition (like limited to 888 units).

I don’t know much about Ultrasone but I tried a DJ Signature and the sound was pretty awesome - rich and open, with a healthy dose of bass. I was really impressed. I guess it doesn’t get much attention because of the DJ moniker and the unique color scheme.

If only Ultrasone's high-end stuff sounded as good as they look. :smirk:

I have some Ultrasone Edition HPs, which I really like except for their ridiculous prices.

I see you have the Tribute 7. It looks beautiful and I’ve read great things about the sound too. So maybe the high end stuff is not all style and no substance. As I stated in prior post, the DJ Sig sounded amazing. I would guess the Tribute 7 is even better.

I think it depends on your tastes. Ultrasone HPs are generally bright cans. So for people who like relaxed and laid back tonality, they are not suited. But as you like DJ Sig, probably you like Ultrasone Edition cans (I have not tried DJ Sig though). Tribute 7 has pretty flat responses with great low (not well extended to sub-bass though) and sizzling but not sibilant trebles. On the other hand, I know there are some people complaining it's tiring. To me it's really great for any genre, especially pop, hard rock, electric, and metal.
Edition 5 (including Jubilee) has a bit more relaxed sound signature with slightly scooped mid, great for jazz and acoustic instruments. This new mysterious HPs look like an open back version of Edition 5. If that is the case, I'm really interested in buying one if I can swallow the price...

Ultrasone has announced their new Edition line headphones, Edition 15. This seems like an open back version of Edition 5. They developed a new hybrid driver, titanium plating on the center cap and gold plating on the other part. Price has not been announced yet on the web.

According to PhileWeb, Japanese audio website, the price of Edition 15 will be around $3299.

Very nice looking as usual ...looks like it has a velour type pad too. Expensive. Ultrasone prices seem more for presentation and aesthetics rather than for driver technology though.

Yes, the stock ear pads are velour type. Ethiopian sheep leather pads are optionally available (no price announcement yet).
The ear pads are magnet attached so that swapping pads can be easily done just like Edition 8 Ex.

I agree that their pricing is insane. But I'm afraid I might pre-order one...

Impedance is low at 40 ohm. But it may not be easily driven due to relatively low efficiency 94dB.

Also the weight is a bit on heavier side for Edition line (338g or 11.9oz).

It's not even out yet. I think it should be shown at the show in Germany this weekend.

Yeah, it's just announced at the Canjam (kind of) in Japan. I'm searching the net like crazy to find out more info/impression. Typically, they will be available early next year, I guess.
