Well, its not necessarily new, since it was released in april, but "Being There" is one of the best new piano jazz albums I've heard, especially out of Norway. I'm a big fan of piano heavy jazz or classical, so this is one of my favorite albums right now.

Trio.
Coincidentally, I just picked up the new Stereophile and they have a long review of the new work in it. Apparently the sonics are good enough to warrant a cover mention on this month's issue.

Thanks for the news, Zara! I enjoy The Ground a lot, and also Changing Places, so I'll be ordering this one too.

BTW I picked up a half dozen or so good Norwegian jazz albums when I was at Bare Jazz in Oslo (GREAT store!) a couple weeks ago. I haven't really sorted through them yet now that I'm back home, but I think there are one or two that might appeal to T.G. fans - if there's interest, I'll post the info here after I've listened to them again.

Thanks for mentioning this. I missed this release. Tord is a great musician. Love all his records.

I've been meaning to pick this one up for a while now...I really love the first two albums. I wish that he was a bit more available, as I can't find a store around here that stocks it.

Strongly agreed. I recently purchased this album after hearing some stellar reviews about it. This type of music never really garnered my interest previously, but my curiosity was piqued and I decided to give it a try. Sounds absolutely fantastic. Rather mellow, and can come across as haunting yet beautiful. Entire CD is a blessing to listen to.
