Hey guys any comments on the different sound signature on stock Tidal app vs. APK version. @Jason - is there maybe some differerence in processing or smthing?
I'm not sure. I've been out at CES all week, so haven't really heard anything about MQA playback on the embedded vs Tidal Android app or had a much of a chance to listen myself. I will try and get some information on if there are any differences.

So, when you say the end of the month, does that actually mean it will actually be available here? OR just to get on a 2 week waiting list?

We will start pre-orders next week and it will be available for purchase by the end of the month or will ship before the end of the month if you pre-ordered. I have been out of the office this week, so I should have a more concrete date on Monday for US/Canada market.

it would appear there is upsampling with the Android version. When using the SP1000 with optical to Hugo2 it looks like hifi is maybe 48k. MQA is unfolded to 88 or 96. The stock app is 44.1 for hifi and unfold to 88 or 96. It is still not confirmed by AK that there is a full decode on either the stock or apk app but there is an unfold. If Tidal is streamed with AK connect the MQA is confirmed as decoded by the blue or green dot. PLEASE correct me if I am mistaken.

My hope is that when it has Roon there will be full decode. Time will tell.

Qobuz has been available via Open App service since three firmwares ago (1.10).

Roon is coming. The testing and certification by the Roon team is pretty intense and takes 3 - 6 weeks. With the holidays unfortunately, that also added additional time to the testing and certification.
I am already using Qobuz via open app. It has bugs. The search field is difficult as typing in it does not show what is being typed. Without being able to search the app is not much use.
Roon was said to be coming before Christmas. Glad to hear it is still on the way.

I’m sorry, I didn’t notice you come to my house and install apps on my player or wait for it to auto shutoff. So I’m not really sure how you can (confirm) that 1.17 is working perfectly fine. If I’m mistaken please let me know.

You can confirm all you like but I know mine is not auto shutting-off and I can no longer install apps.

OK fine. Firmware version you said having problem bcs you update from Iriver's server while not same, I update from Mars

Which that can never be said with most electronic devices. Moreover, you have attempted to install an app on 1.17 so how do you know if it’s confirmed working. Why are you trying to create an issue? Are you really so insecure that you have to try to throw jabs at me. Oh Jesus Christ.

You do realize that I’m a customer just like you. I am on a forum, on the correct post asking for advice related to the topic of this post. Why do you feel the need to harass me when bugs are a fairly common issue with firmwares. Don’t worry, I’m not insulted I’m just completely speechless towards your behavior. It’s so comical.

Anyways I found a copy of FW 1.13. I’ll just use that until I find FW 1.16.

I have no problems with 1.17 including installing apps.
