And be careful what USB cable you use. Always use the supplied cable for data transfer. I've found that these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZTRZFG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 work well for charging.

Edit- I also only charge from the powered port of a USB strip. NEVER use a block. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MNGIL32/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Appreciate the guidance but the charger that I am already using is to the specs quoted by A&K so it shouldn’t be a problem. And I am using the supplied cable too.

Great, thanks for the info!
Im not good in describe about sound.
Simply speaking, I do love spk and shure ske pairing for going out (every day going out I take them to go with me) but they do not bring the sound I have with dac mode use of spk.
So turn on laptop is a must when I am not too lazy :D

I use Tidal desktop sw

Pls note: what posibility of counterfeit charger is.
Prev post seems you use separately packing one - that is not the one come with a smartphone.
True to my case ! On package it tell that is a galaxy s8 charger.
I cant charge my spk by that one. I interchange 3 times then throw away.
So my question was : is yr charger the one that came with your (samsung) smartphone....
I know EU may less chance for fake but who knows

Thanks for the suggestion but it’s definitely an official Samsung charger as it was purchased at an official Samsung store.

My SP1000M’s symptoms seem to be those of a faulty battery (which was clearly the problem with my previous one) but it seems like crazy bad luck to have two in a row from the same store.

Jason, any advice would be very welcome!

does this device have QC built in? If not how long does it take to charge using a 2V charger? I have one on the way, so I am curious if, I cant use my portable battery charger.

My mistake. I’m confusing amps with volts... it is a 2.1 amp charger... compared to a 5 amp charger... it does have quick charge capacity, and it took a little under two hours with the quick charge...

Sorry, I've seen your posts and have discussed with our support team, just had not gotten a chance to get on and answer.

The Samsung chargers are weird. My S9 charger charges the KANN, SP1000 and SE100 fine, but my wife's S9 charger does not do quick charge. Both are the original chargers that came with the phone. We suspect that is because Samsung uses a slightly proprietary charging system they call adaptive charging in their wall chargers. It is compatible with Qualcomm's Quick Charge standard, but the specs are slightly different. For best results, we recommend a compatible Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 charger.

Our support director confirmed you may see some warmth during burn-in and that should disappear after a week or two of playback and a number of charge cycles. If you are still experiencing the same issues after two weeks, it could be a faulty unit. He also asked that you try a different charger than the Samsung charger.

Also suggested:
  • Power off the DAP and charge directly off the wall over night.
  • Conduct thorough music playback, without charging during the day, as the DAP should offer 6~8 hrs of music playback. If the battery drains really fast, then it needs to be reported.
    • If the DAP demonstrates any “warming sensation” during standard operations or music playback, it also needs to be reported.

Can you PM me the store name where you purchased it please? Our team would like to follow up with them also.

@JasonNYC or anyone could you please advice on how to sync a previously saved playlist .m3u file back into the SP1000 running the latest 1.16 firmware? The old way of creating another folder on the internal storage does not work anymore with the 1.10 firmware and on. No matter where I copy the .m3u file to, whether directly into the Playlists folder or into another folder, it all resulted into an empty (0 byte) playlist. Please help. Manually creating all the playlists with many hundreds of songs are simply too labor intensive. Thanks.
