Yes, Roon will be the same functionality on all current gen players - SR15, SE100, SP1000M and SP1000. We will announce support for other players soon.

About 500 bucks more just for gold plated brass body and double storage or is there any improvement in SQ?
It is becoming heavier so that won't be a good thing but just want to perceive the tangible merits here.

The internals are the same but the chassis affects the SQ as it is used to ground the audio circuit, thus SP1000M Gold will sound a bit different to the regular version as brass is a better conductor than aluminum. The SP1000M also shares the same internals as the SP1000 (just rearranged to fit a smaller case), but the difference in chassis materials affect the sound between them, aluminum for SP1000M and copper or steel for SP1000, again copper is a much better conductor than brass or aluminum.

What are the specs of your charger? I had an SE100 that would overheat using only a 5v wall charger and the thing completely died on me after only a few days. I would say if you are using 5v as well, it's not normal.

Yeah the charger will affect it based on my experience... I had a 5V charger that had more output than the recommended and it got hot while charging ... i panicked, and I switched it to a 2V and it fixed it for me...
