How about the power? I remember them as power hungry and the sp1000 isnt very powerful, especially from 3,5 mm out which seems to be used in this case.

actually, it's great at 122/150, very natural, great dynamics, large space, the sound is large and detailed, you have the impression of listening to full headphones, nothing is missing, I highly recommend it

Any updates or timeline for the built-in Tidal app update for Tidal Max? We can't use the official Tidal app because it's not compatible with Android 6.

Tidal is a gong show at the moment. Their apps have turned off the mqa signal bits and are severing them up as max lossless. If the embedded app says mqa it really is.

BTW… AK could recycle the sp1000 sound engine as sp4000 and everyone would love it.

Unfortunately, no updates at all. I believe we are still waiting for some updated files from them to integrate with no response. We are also working on the issues with the downloaded app that has been discussed in the SP3000 thread where the app says a 24-bit file is being played, but the app is only passing a 16-bit file to the device. Haven't received any response on that either. All other streaming apps showing a 24-bit file playing (Qobuz, Apple Music, Amazon Music) is passing a 24-bit file to our players for bit-perfect playback. We know customers are frustrated as are we. Let me see if there has been any movement on this.

I've always preferred Qobuz. It has the best sound quality of all the streaming platforms. I used to have Tidal, but after listening to Qobuz back to back it was pretty obvious the difference. Cleaner sounding and less artificially altered.

Keep in mind that the SP1000, SP1000M, SP2000 (and others) haven't been able to update the official Tidal app since 2022 due to the Android 7 requirement.

The sp1000ss sounds exceptional
I think this is the best A&K dap ....
nothing about its sound disturbs or irritates me, sometimes I get lost in thought , only to realize after a while that this sound gives the feeling of "deep breathing", I also think that it sounds very real, effortless and the vocals sound real and the upper tones are what I value this dap the most

I have side loaded the qobuz app 7.13.0 as per the approved app list. While trying to log in after entering my email I get "Could not execute API request". Has anyone else seen this?
