I just ran the most recent update for my 2000T. UI is the same as before. Jason, is there going to ba another update with a new UI?

My SP1000SS is now hooked up to an amp and Kef speakers (Toslink) for living room use so a new UI is not something I really care about. And it's what, five years old? Had a good run.

@JasonNYC Just picked up a relatively good condition demo Sp1K. Only caveat was the the bottom of the micro card tray was broken.



Internal storage is fine for current purposes, but before I try to super glue that in, is there a way to get a replacement?

Hey guys, I was having issues getting into my wifi network with my SP100SS. When I type in the password to connect to my network, it just shows up as greyed out and doesn't connect. It tells me "passwords don't match", but I'm certain it matches. Does anyone have an idea what's going on and could please chime in?

Maybe your modem has "black listed" your a&k.
Look into your router which device you can see.

At this time there is no word on if the new UI will come to thr SP2000T. It will not come to SP1000 or SP2000.

This was a known issue with certain mesh networks, but was fixed with the last firmware update. Can you confirm what firmware version you are running?

Could you please give a quick rundown how you did this? I installed XAPK installer 2.22, but can't install any of the apps like root checker, apex launcher, boot apps, etc. It says "error parsing package". My Firmware is 1.70 CM.

I rooted my SP1000M and modified the whitelist to allow additional apps. It's not trivial to do and has some risk involved. If you are familiar with Android 6 rooting and how to modify and recompile system apks with apktool, drop me a PM and I'll try to help.

Perhaps you could write up a small guide on how to do it and post it somewhere on Head-fi, with a big fat disclaimer of course. Astell & Kern probably wouldn't mind, as it's always on the users own risk, if they brick the device. I'm sure many users including myself would be interested in such a tutorial.

Bottom line is that I don't want to feel guilty if someone bricks their $2000+ device because they don't understand the details and risks (or I make a mistake in the guide). Also, I don't believe the forum is root/hack friendly. But, I will respond to PMs.

Understandable, as it would probably require quite a lot of testing to make sure everything is explained correctly. I too would feel guilty if someone bricked their device due to something I wrote. Will PM you instead.
