Sounds normal to me. Not all albums will play as gapless. I think it may be a matter of how the files were "built" at the beginning and end way before they get to us.
I find this curious that a dap costing thousands of $ is not able to fully play gapless when other players can. Maybe @JasonNYC can elucidate us on this matter.
I agree. For this price, there should be no issues with gapless. Needs to be addressed.
Sorry, I haven’t been near a computer today to get onto the forums. If I understand correctly, you are playing through folder view, correct? I believe gapless does not work when playing through folder view because folder view treats the tracks as individual files, which is why there is a pause in between tracks. Have you tried playing through album or artist and also having an issue with gapless?
This is interesting because some tracks do indeed play gapless, but others do not. Your response would seem do indicate that no tracks would play gapless. (Apologies if I've misinterpreted.)
Nevertheless, I'll try playing from album view tomorrow and report back. Please let me know if I should pm you instead so we don't unnecessarily hijack this forum.
I should also acknowledge your excellent customer service. Your post was only about ½ hours after my post. Thanks for your continued support!!
@rwelles feel free to PM me. Once we figure out what the issue is, I will respond back on the thread in case anyone else is experiencing the same issues.
You need to use an OTG cable to connect it to the player. Once connected, you should see the USB Icon light up in the quick settings bar. Press it, it should take a few seconds, then it should show USB Storage and appear in folder view.
AK SP1000 SS vs. Cu, which one is better than?
SP1000 SS or SP1000 CU
What do you mean "better"?
I genuinely love astell and Kern stuff but why not more control on eq for the user?
I'm sorry, my question is not clear. Which one is compatible with overall song?
I know you're new to the forums, but this has been beat to death going back to their older models. Some of the conclusions are, the Cooper model has a warmer tone sonically then the stainless or aluminum models. However this is all left to interpretation by the listener and not the gospel. I hope that helps.
Your question is lost in translation. Neither is better, but they are slightly different. Twister has an amazing blog post about this https://twister6.com/2018/04/09/ak-sp1000-ss-vs-cu/
I prefer the copper version. The sound feels more analog, more live, more real, and easier to listen to. The stainless one sounded bright to me, I'm sensitive to higher frequencies, and these bothered my ears.
My wife on the other hand, preferes the Stainless SS version. To her the SS sounded more crisp, more clear, more detailed.
The difference between the two is only slight, and my comparison may seem exaggerated compared to how they both sound since I'm focusing on how they sound different, but really they sound more alike than they do different.
