I use roon but am waiting for the promised certification of the SP1000 as a "roon ready" endpoint. Your only way to use the SP1000 at present with roon is to feed it through the usb in dac mode from a roon bridge.

I’ve debated changing from the blue to the new gold M as I feel the pair up of blue with A18t is almost too open/airy? Kinda wanted some extra punch. Do you think it’s worth it or is the sound change not enough to warrant the cost difference?

    You won't be sorry!

Do you have experience with the AOL litz cable for $150? I am getting ready to buy Effect Audio Eros II + for $399... i wonder how the Fiios stack up?

Well, my impression of the brass was that there was a little more thickness to the notes; slightly less air, i would daresay a touch "brassy"? So if that is what you are looking for, (and it sounds like you are), then I think you will be happy with the brass. I guess the trick is selling the blue for a good price?

I already have a buyer lined up for the blue if I do sell. It’s jusy trying to find the gold at a good price. I did find one retailer offering it for about $370 off MSRP but that’s still a hefty upgrade price.

Yes, I like Roon a lot; hooked up to my Tidal account and my 38,000+ collection, I'm like a musical god!

That's a good price! i would jump on it, personally... I listened to the Audio64 stuff at Canjam and found it very bright to my ears, generally. The best iem I heard was Empire Legend X, but they start at 2,400! I'm thinking my next IEM will be the Solaris...But even that is a luxury for me...

The alo super blitz sounds great with the ca Solaris. I can't say how it sounds with other iems. My other iem is a jh Roxanne so until alo makes a cable for jh 4pin with a bass pod (I doubt that this will ever happen).

I have the A18t and Legend X in customs. Both are phenomenal.

How did the ibasso dx200 compare to the sp1000M? Did you have amp 8 card?

I had the DX200 w AMP 4 and the DX200 Ti with AMP 1TI (and AMP4 but I never used 4 with that setup due to the color mismatch, lol)

I much prefer the Astell Kern DAPs. The OS for starters is very smooth and runs well, with open APK now its even more versatile, and on top of that the battery life is far better than the DX200.

The DX200 Ti wasn’t far off in terms of sound to the SP1000 SS (from what I remember) but the sound was just far too learn and “boring” sounding. Something about the tuning of the A&K DAPs really pleases my ears. Sorry, not the best comparison.

There currently are no authorized retailers selling the SP1000M Gold for less than $2,999 here in the US. If that is the case, they most likely are an unauthorized reseller and warranty will be void if not purchasing from an authorized dealer. I would recommend confirming the dealer is on our authorized retailer list here - https://us.astellnkern.com/apps/store-locator/

Feel free to PM also to confirm.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to have @JasonNYC chime in on this!
