Someone can compare the SP1000SS with the AK240SS??
An explained sound comparison, not only superlative words?

SP1000 has more bass, more treble, more midrange, more detail, better note decay, better note attack, "sounds" better (musicality).

I have both. SP1000SS is much better. If it's a matter of money, buy the 240SS. If money is no object, buy the SP1000SS

I already have the AK240SS and i love his musicality when is paired with the Campfire Andromeda, i fear to lose this musicality with SP1000, since it’s described as clinical, cold, treble oriented DAP...
It’s a good sound evolution? If i coming from AK240SS and AK380...
Or is it a completely different DAP?

Although I don't have any experience with AK240SS (I had AK240 and AK380), SP1000Cu was a significant sq upgrade to my ears. I enjoyed pairing SP1000Cu with Andro. I prefer Cu over SS but the difference is small. Anyway, I suggest try finding a place where you can audition SP1000.

An headphone can bring loudness as well as the DAP.
At the end we will never know unless we use a scientific approach over an human hearing approach for bench-marking.

I simply don't understand why scientific evidence is needed. Let's assume there is a reasonably accurate quantitative way to assess which DAP/HPs are better than others. Then if you don't like that "better" sound what would you do? Force yourself to like the sound? IMHO, in the end it's up to your ears/brains/souls. If you like the sound, that's good. If you don't, that's bad. For this reason, I just trust my ears. My measure of better or worse is fully depend on my subjective assessment not objective ones.

So true. I tried lately Andromeda +plus sound gps exo with my old 240ss. The chemistry is superb. Musicality is unrivalled.

Huge dilemna.
No scientific evidence = dark ages with unicorn/rainbow marketing
Constant need for hard-based evidence = sure way to kill innovation through huge R&D costs and regulatory hurdles

As usual, it's not black or white, it's always about finding the right balance.
Right now, I think evidence is sorely lacking in audio (with very little actual science being researched/published), while the opposite stance had made it very tedious/expensive to develop products in other domains (such as mine = medical devices).

Emotional judgment or a consensus use an analysis that is different compared to a judgment based on performance metrics.
That's why the question remains opened about SP1000 SS Vs SP1000Cu Vs SP1000OB as well as many other unanswered questions.

Does that mean you could polish scratches away? I'm not sure if anyone has tried.

Again, the SP1000SS is just a better 240SS. Much better. But the only way for you to be sure is to try one. If you like smoothness, the detail in the SP1000 might be an issue, as you can hear just about everything. I don't find it cold, just clear and precise and detailed.
