The lock function only locks the touchscreen. It does not lock the physical buttons - play/pause, previous track, next track and volume control.

I am not sure if lock has anything to do with touch screen. When it's locked, I can still operate the touch screen and when the screen's shut off, I cannot bring it back using touch screen. Only wheel button can. According to Iriver tech, lock feature only disables the volume control (by wheel button) only when the screen's off. That's is what I am experiencing unless my unit's bad.

I’m not an expert, but you can shield the internal components and with the antenna/s you can get a good WiFi connection.

I am not sure if any DAP maker has done it well so far
eg Cayin tried on their i5 but the wifi reception ended up bad.

....and that´s why I´ve contacted Ken Ball. He already gave me an excellent explanation on how to find the best voltage output for each of my iems and my ALO CDM.

So is your question then how you dial up the exact voltage output of the AK1000? The fixed options are 0.7, 1.0, 1.25, and 2V in setup.

Ken explained to me, that my CDM amp doesn´t care which voltage I´m using, but my iems do! The reason I´ve rather disliked the sound of my SP1000Cu so far was, because I´ve set the voltage way too high (1.25V), so what I´ve heard was mild distortion of my iems! So, I´ve followed Ken´s advice and set the voltage out at 0.7V, and now I´m in love again with the sound of my Ultima Dap! Thank God, I didn´t sell it.......

I've already liquidated my wm1z but still have wm1a and between 1a and sp1000 the SQ difference is monumental.
There's no comparison between these two devices. Would there be a vast improvement in SQ using 2.5mm balanced over 3.5mm?

The 3.5mm on the wm1a is not as good as the 4.4 balanced. As the circuit and the number of the capacitor on it are not as good as the 4.4. You can only unleash the full potential with the 4.4 on the wm1a.

2.5mm vs 3.5mm on the SP1000 I think depends on the what earphone you are currently using. 2.5mm may give a quiet and darker background.

My Van Nuys case arrives. Great case, it does work as advertised. Slimer than my previous belt case. The only con is the price. But I guess it is not a problem for me since I have already bought the SP1000..... The Van nuys case can accommodate the SP1000 together with a stock case/ Dignis case. At the same time providing access to the side IOs and volume nob. There is also a opening at the bottom for the charging port.

Yep, they are pricey. I love my leather one, best case I've ever used on any DAP I've owned.
