Hello, I'm new to the site. I just bought my first 'decent' headphones, the K550. I need help choosing a portable player (sound quality is the only thing that matters to me).

$200 budget for now, but open to suggestions for future gear.

My research tells me that my iPod's audio chip is NOT very good (mediocre chipset and it doesn't support my higher quality files like FLAC).

Currently using my Galaxy S3 (US qualcomm chip version, NOT the Wolfsen chip version!) for music, but is my budget so low that a portable player at ~$200 will not make a difference compared to an iPod or my S3?

Thanks.
This is a great forum. Got the K550s after doing research on here!

Sandisk Sansa Clip Zip 4G, with the Rockbox firmware.
You can use a 8GB, 16GB or 32MB Micro-SD memory card with the Clip Zip.

Sony E series are well likes, I use the Sony E465 myself.
