Hello Head-Fi,

Thanks for all the help with selecting a new pair of headphones. I finally made up my mind on what pair of cans to get, and I've decided to get a pair of Shure SRH-840's. I currently own a pair of JVC HA-RX700 which I did not burn, and I'm not going to make that mistake again. I plan on burning in my SRH-840's for no less than 100 hours. Any tips on what do play or do for the burn in process? I was wondering if anyone had any burn-in audio tracks that play specific tones, or anything like that they could send me?

Thanks for the help in advance!

Honestly, I wouldn't really bother. At least, don't go out of your way to burn them in. If you feel like you absolutely have to do it, do it at night when you wouldn't use them anyway.

As for what to use, anything will do. Put a song on loop, or whatever.

+1 to the previous posts. With me, I've never noticed a difference with any of my headphones regarding burn in. I'd say just play some music through them and enjoy them. Just my experiences.
