Ok been a long time reader of head-fi so Im trying to start out my audio journey on the right foot. I will soon be receiving in the mail a new macbook pro and I'm wondering how I should start ripping cd's and also if ill need an amp and a good set of headphones for the lappy. I was considering apple lossless or 320 ripped cd's. I have been researching headphones and Im not sure if I should get a pair for home use with the laptop and some iems for the ipod wifey will be getting me for xmas or just one good pair for both. Been looking into some sennz such as the px100, hd555, hd280pro, also some ath-es7's, iems im not sure about im still kinda lost even tho ive read reviews on many. Also will I need an amp with my macbook pro and if so can I get one that will also be usable with my ipod. Such as maybe a headroom bithead? Any help would be great and sorry if this is the wrong forum for this. Also I dont know much of a budget just nothing to extreme to start me out was thinking no more then 100-150 for the headphones and maybe the same for an amp if needed. Thanks in advance.
