Hi,

I would like to replace my current speakers with something new as we moved to a new apartment with a living room double as big as the old one (55m²) now. My current Mission m32's sound "a bit" thin even with a sub so I was looking for something new.

Because my wife is always concered about the size and look of the speakers, she more or less narrowed my selection down to the KEF IQ7, the Mission m66i and the Wharfedale Diamon 9.5

Which ones would you recommend and why?

I am planning to upgrade to a 5.1 setup later on, but that should not be a problem with any over the above speakers.

Thanks,
smuh

I have Wharfdale Diamond 8.2 in my HT setup for mains and they are good for that but they are not the most musical speakers I have heard. I got them at a great price so couldn't resist. I have Mission 760i in my bedroom setup with a homemade sub and think they are actually a better music speaker despite the 5.25 vs 6.5 inch woofer difference. In my main music set up I have JBL L112 and they sound GREAT. Too bad you couldn't convince the wife to go with bigger speakers. In my HT setup I have Bose cubes for the surrounds and they are perfect for that. For all the bashing Bose gets the Cubes are some pretty decent sounding speakers and the size should make the wife happy. If you can get a set for a decent price I would say try them because the resale price on ebay is still pretty solid for them.
