Just tried FiiO music app on ZX507. Overall it has a warmer intimate sound presentation compared to the Walkman app. It reminds me of the sound on the old firmware 1.01 walkman app. It’s interface is actually usable unlike foobar and neutron.

This is my rating according to sound quality

1. Walkman App: highest resolution of all
2. FiiO Music: warm presentation
3. Neutron Player(32fp): smoothest sound
4. Foobar2000(OpenSL): smooth sound
5. USB Audio App(android driver)

Since this dap has Android 9, has anyone tried the app Wavelet? Any software conflicts?

You have to remember to to turn on HiRes streaming and restart. Amazon UltraHDAudio then reports device capability as "24bit/192KHz.

I see Amazon Music HD now has a built in eq! (it never did before) that's a great thing to persuade people to move over from Spotify IMHO.

Perhaps you can compare Amazon Music HD EQ and ZX507 built-in EQ app. Just make sure the other is set 'flat'.

That's about what I was getting on the old FW. Battery life is massively, massively improved with playback from SD card in Walkman app with all wireless turned off.

Yeh, I realise its fine for your own files in the walkman app, but then If I didn't want it for streaming services I'd have stuck with a ZX300 and its fantastic battery life.

Have you ever experienced any sound signature changing in previous FW updates? If not, then you probably won't.

I've never noticed any change in the sound. Could be that my ears or my earbuds/cables are not so good, could be that I don't care enough.
Several people here mentioned multiple times that the sound signature has changed many times due to FW update.
For me personally, if I can't hear it, it doesn't matter to me. Same goes for bit-perfect streaming.

Hey all, I've been using the DAP since February with no problems. Loving it. I had been using google music mostly for convenience but recently added Amazon HD since the firmware upgrade. Sounds great...but now the amazon HD app has crashed several times. I've not had this problem with Tidal, Apple or Google play. Has anyone else noted problems with amazon HD crashing?
