I have to observe, the general tone around here seems to be a little hostile.

Still a relatively decent bunch, though. Some other threads have a more... emotional audience. :D

Yes, Having to charge via WMport is a pain but the cable is relatively cheap (after market ones) so I just ordered a 3 pack so Now I have the original at home, one at work and one in my laptop bag and one in the car.

Have you run it with everything off? I'd imagine that it would be that affecting battery life. Mine can go 3 days without charging (though I charge it every night as there is nothing worse than being stuck at work without music!).

No EQ using BT

Yeah, after a little research I found this.
When there is an active Bluetooth connection, the sound quality settings are invalid.
I should had research this player more before I bought it. No aptX now this... Time to sell and look for something else.

This is why my A17 is still a champ EQ over Bluetooth and APTX

A40 supports apt X but don't know if you can use EQ. I never felt a need for it though even when I ran it wired. Are you running 24bit files, If not , you won't need apt X. If you are, just get a Sony BT headphone and use LDAC.
