New Sennheiser PX-100/200 IIs

Hey guys, kinda new here... does anyone have both the PX100 and PX200. How do they compare? I've heard that the PX100 has better sound reproduction (due to being semi-open). I'm interested in purchasing my first real headphones lol and wanted to know whether to go for the PX100 or PX200 (or hopefully the PX100-II and PX200-II).

Yes, the PX100 sounds more open (less muffled, wider soundstage, more audible detail) than the PX200. No idea if that will carry over to the new generation.

So what are the benefits to the slightly more expensive PX200? Just the fact that they are closed and noise doesn't bleed out?

Pretty much. At least here in the US, the cost of the PX200s approaches that of the K81Dj, making them absolutely 100% not worth it, IMO.

I hope the prices for the new revision aren't too much over the current models. Btw just read your review - it was excellent and very helpful!

The cord on my PX100s is starting to curl and nothing I've tried seems to fix this. Also, the pads keep coming off. I've practically loved them to death. Eagerly awaiting more info.

IMO - the new designs are crappy looking. I prefer the design of the current ones.

As long as the sound quality and comfort are as good (or better) than the previous generation. Guess no one can get samples to review?

Just spotted these on J & R's Music World's website, you can pre-order the Sennheiser PX 100 II (price: $69.95), and PX 200 II (price:$89.95). The website says to call to get latest pricing (they may knock off another 10-20 USD's off these prices). They also have UPS ground shipping for free at this time. Give them a call and see what they say, I have dealt with J & R for about 25 years and they have always treated me well. Happy Listening.

get the Sennheiser 414 pads, in bright yellow. excellent instant upgrade in the sound, plus the groovy retro look as a bonus.
