New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil

I'm hearing that the Yggy has a bright presentation. Can anyone comment to this?

I'll be pairing it with an LAu + Abyss, I don't want a harsh system. How's the Ygg tonality etc?

Thanks.

No, there is nothing "bright" about Yggdrasil at all.  Tonally extremely neutral.

No harshness or etch or anything evil, but be aware that you will get the full power and majesty (sorry, MFSL) of whatever is on your recordings. However with LAu/Abyss, not to worry. Strap in, sit back and enjoy the ride.

I only found it a bit harsh at first and then as many have posted, it cleared up really nicely after a week or so.  Left it on with music going to it, amp off.  Has yet to be turned off.

Mobile Fidelity Sound Labs

Got that part.  I'm not following what there is to be sorry about.  On my rig, the MFSL recordings that were made using the Moffat/Pass ADC setup sound particularly good played back through the Yggy.

I am almost as old as dirt and I had to Google MFSL "Power and Majesty". What a great old memory, it is one of the discs the Salesman played when I bought my Conrad Johnson MV50 and PV5, my first serious stereo rig. Wish I still had them.

I have a CD called "The Digital Domain" from 1983.:)
