Just hope it gets Rockboxed soon! It would be nice to get some artwork on the player.

The Clip+ and Rockbox are superb and are my main portable player along with my DBA-02's.

As long as Sandisk doesn't stuff yet another SigmaTel into the new Clip as they have done with the Fuze+, they should be okay.

Looks good. I'm fine with my 2 color OLED Clip+ for now but I like that Sansa has upgraded the Clip+ nicely without destroying its appeal, like they did for the Fuze+.

I don't know where you are getting "kickstand" from. And it is not ebooks that the Clip Zip supports....the "books" section of the menu contains the submenus of audiobooks and podcasts.
There is a user review up over on another site though....

Pass.

It looks very similar to some of Philips cheap players and I can't see the virtue in having a 96 x 96 colour screen.

I'm with you there. At 96 x 96 pixels, SanDisk's putting the Clip Zip in the same realm as their long-discontinued c200 players...whose screens looked crappy by 2004's standards.

Great review Achmed.  Did they advise when they'll be shipping?  On the SanDisk website it advises "not in stock" on any of them.  I love the Clip+, but a bit more screen real estate would be nice....

It appears to be on Amazon.com, TheNerds.net, and Valleyseek.com, according to Google Shopping results.

I don't see the point of the album art on this screen, but I never minded the lack of it on the Clip+ either. I crtainly will not alter any of my tags to facilitate viewing album art on this screen.
The screen being a little bigger is cool though, and the alphabet browsing and being able to hide the stuff you don't use is nice.

Seems like it will sound just as good as Clip+, which is great of course. The screen might be small, but if it makes navigation a bit easier then it is a welcomed addition. The only thing I don't like is the position of the headphone socket, which is still the same as old Clip - I really hope it was on the top or bottom.

Thanks Achmed..When I posted earlier, nothing......Ordered through Amazon now...Had some reward points to use, so good times.....Purple of course...lol...4GB...My Clip+ is 8GB, so don't need bigger......For 80gb, I just use my iPods 5G...

Thanks again...
