Hm, 1/4 inch inputs. Interesting. I think this was posted earlier somewhere.

"Dr. Head" and the big "X" triggers dirty thoughts in my dirty dirty mind..

Yes this was posted but the thread disappeared due to it seeming like an advertisement.

I wrote about these a while ago after seeing them in a Korean forum. It was named AudioCube back then. Apparently they were result of a flame war(!) between a Cmoy amp builder and the company. Anyway, the people who reviewed the earlier version gave a favourable review over Cmoy and likes but based on the spec. I wouldn't expect it to outperform a Meta. However I think these are a bargain with included the battery and the built-in charger. Not sure why they changed the name to "Dr. Head." The connotation is just..umm..err.. *speechless* I think this belongs to one of those "Engrish" blunders.

It's better than the first name, which was rumored to be Nurse Head.

looks like it runs on 9v battery power as well as the wall wart (just guessing by the "charge" light indicator and the charge label near the power button.

Might be interesting. Any idea what the price is, or how one could get one in the US (I can't read most of the ad....)

I'm in Korea right now, and I just got two - one for myself and one for a fellow head-fier.

I've only had a few hours with it but overall the sound is amazing, especially for the price!

The schematics of this amp is discussed here (at sijosae's forum in www.headphoneamp.co.kr):

I will post a full review soon.

I also got the Audiotrak OPTOPlay, a tiny USB powered optical out/headphone out (60mW, 24bit/96khz). It is really tiny, and drives my CD3Ks to insane levels without distortion! All straight out of the USB bus power! Amazing. I will also write a review soon. Further product info can be found here: http://midiman.co.kr/ct/read.htm?sm_id=pd&sb_id=-20

Oh yeah, and while browsing the Audiotrak site, I found this sound card: http://midiman.co.kr/ct/board_view.p...ge=1&next_num=

It's called Parao 5.1, and it has three dual opamp DIP sockets for onboard preamp/headphone amp capability. I think this sound card would be ideal for people wanting to drive their headphones straight out of the PC soundcard...

Enough blabbering for today. I need to go sleep for tomorrow's work...

Interesting, how does it compare to your meta42?
