Lol. why do they keep stealing previously used numbers? (ATH-W1/5000, AH-D1/5000; K5/6/701, AH-D5/6/701)

I like the idea of a bundled hard carrying case. And if the D701's do in fact cost anywhere around $700 can we expect to see even more expensive headphones from Denon in the near future? Let's face it, it hasn't been so long since the Dx000's became a flavor of the month here at Head-Fi. Are they putting proceeds straight into further testing/production of even higher quality products? We've recently seen Ultrasone attempt another world class headphone. It'd be interesting to see Denon do the same.

Hmm...I doubt that those headphones would cost that much money. The D1001 would definitely not cost $1000? They look too flimsy and too much like the D1000's.

Edit:Nvm, the one in the picture.

The actual article doesn't list the D1001 anywhere, however, you can sort of make out some of the specs:

Microfiber Diaphragm
Acoustic Optimizer
Light Weight Magnesium Frame Structure
Available in Black or Silver

You're right. Nothing boasts that kind of price tag, although the magnesium frame does pique my interest, as does the dual entry cable. The D501 has authentic leather pads, so I'd assume the D10001 would as well. Designing our headphones with class, are we?

im more interested in the canal phones, theres seems to be a C300 replacement and a mid point C551 (between C351 and c751) and a new high point,

now, the C700´s were decent, but they were no match for the other $150 to $200 sets as the UE Super.fi 5 and the FS atrio M5, i guess its just a matter to see if the C751 either improved the sound quality or reduced the price,
