New old version of dt880?

Has anyone seen this version of dt880? Or is it a fake?

I searched the forum an the web for a similar version of the dt880 but only found the regular 2003 and 2005 versions...

Yup, that's an older version of the 880. Does anyone know how the sound compares to the newer ones?

Yeah, that's the 1st generation DT880. I have one, and it's a fine headphone, but i have no idea how it compares to the current version.

It was supposed to mimic the sound of the too-expensive Beyer ET1000 electrostat and was ultimately replaced by the DT990 in 1985.

Later DT880's are a very different design - only semi-open, where the old DT880 is more open than the DT990.
