Hello all,
I am looking to get a pair of headphones and I have come here looking for some advice.  I enjoy listening to Classic Rock the most but I do listen to pretty much everything accept Rap and Country music.
In the past I have used Bose over the ear headphones which I enjoyed for flights but I can't see myself buying Bose when I know they aren't the best dollar for dollar.  I learned that with their home theater speakers.
I have tried on Klipsch headphones at Apple stores and Sony headphones at the Sony Store and I find  very few that feel comfortable on my head.  On ear headphones hurt my ears as do in ear phones.  I have no tolerance for anything on or inside of my ears.
I don't have a set price limit buy I think $200 would be a reasonable amount to stay below.
I know forums get these kind of questions all the time from new members so if there is a good reference thread to over the ear headphones I would appreciate a link to it.
Thanks in advance to everyone.

If you want a nice pair of closed headphones (headphones that don't leak noise and can block out outside noise decently well) then the Audio Technica ATh-M50 is a good start.

If sound leakage is not your concern then you could look into a pair of open headphones. The Grado SR80i's are a good start there and they're known for making rock music shine if that's what you're after.

Take my advice with a grain of salt, though, I'm still a noobie and am still learning as much as you are. Oh and welcome to head-fi! We're sorry about your wallet.
