New member/ informations about Beyerdynamic DT-990 premium and amp/dac

Hey guys ! I want to start with apologies about my English, my first language is French.

I’m new to this forum and pretty new in the audio. I just bought the Dt-990 premium 250 ohm and yet, I have no amp/dac. All I have is a low quality external; soundblaster ( Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 PRO ) and the chipset on my mother board ( Realtek ALC892 ). I’m gonna receive the headphone tomorrow.

Last week I wasn’t sure to buy amp/dac for my headset and that why I took the 250 ohm but finally, I think I’m gonna get the schiit stack modi/magni.

My first question is, is that a mistake to take the 250 ohm when I can get the 600 ohm for the same price ? If I go with the schiit stack, I’m gonna be able to run the 600... do I waste something with the 250 ? I can just send back to amazon and buyback the 600 ohm if there is a big difference.

Second question, like I said, I might get the schiit stack but do you guys have better options in that price range or lower ?

Some people gave me the suggestion to go with the schiit Fulla 2 or the monoprice desktop.

Thx you for the posts !! i read both post before post my question ! i did some search before posting that first tread. I still didnt find the sound difference between the 250 ohm VS 600 ohm.
I still didnt find some better options than monoprice and Schiit Stacks

I think given your amp choices you made the right choice with the 250ohm version.As to how the DT990 sounds via Schiit gear,my thoughts are made in the other threads I quoted.

While searching for the dt 990 pro, i've seen 2 designs, i'm awar that there are premium, pro, black edition models, but i saw different designs on 2 pro models, one has "beyerdynamic" written on the sides, while the other one, the most common, has "DT 990 PRO" written. I just want to know what's up with that. Is there a difference? Hope someone could help. Thanks!

The DT990 600-Ohm does offer better bass control, over the DT990 250-Ohm.
Me, I would say to return the DT990 and get the Soundmagic HP200 headphones, I think of them as an improved DT990.
