Good decision.  I recommend using the lowest profile 90 degree elbow you can make.  Makes it more usable when you can pair it w/ a myriad of portable cases like Pelican or Otterbox.

The new LOD will call L8,  the length is 8cm!  and after 2 month will have a new LOD call L9:
 
L7: 3.5mm L connector ---3.5mm L connector!  PCOCC-A, the price will be the same as our L2;
 
L8: iPod dock ( 90 degree ) --- 3.5mm L connnector, PCOCC-A, the price will be higher than L3;

BTW, we are selling some 1m LOD to Japanese market now, it is
 
L30: length : 1m, iPod dock connector - 3.5mm connnector!
 
L50: length: 1m, Sony walkman connector--3.mm connector!

Do you have any pictures of what the L8 might look like? Is the length of the L7 the same as the L2? Also, what is the L9 supposed to be?

The L8 is something like this, but the cable is diferrent and the color is black!

Regarding the L8: please make sure the ipod dock connector will fit in an iphone 4 with a bumper.  The 'bumper' style case is very popular with the new iphone 4 but doesn't accept the majority of after market dock connectors because they are too fat/big.  The official apple connector and possibly the new Sendstation Line out/mini usb are the only ones that really fit with a bumper.  If the L8 could fit, you'd have a winner in my book.

I just came here to ask the same thing, the L1 fits perfectly as the connector is the same size as the new apple connectors if you was to upgrade it (and halve the length of the cable i'd get one)

we can not use HPC-22W cable if we use the same dock connector, because the diameter of the cable is too big to install into the case

As for the L7, It should also have an RCA out version like some kind of dock. Something like what the e9 does but without the added cost of an amp.
