i guess if you listen to them at reduced levels they sound okay. and provided you don't listen to vocals. otherwise nothing less than transplating A1000 transducers into them may help. and i didn't want to chance throwing good money after bad. guess you can try putting the HP910 transducers in the AD10 and the AD10 transducers in the HP910
me, I'll never buy another ATH product again. consider my ATH membership cancelled. The Grado Team membership has expired, as well.

btw, the reason I didn't actively participate in yesterday's meeting was because of my right earlobe still hurting after auditioning the HP910 for 8 hours. even listening to the DT831, at home, was painful after 30 minutes. So I'm giving my ears a day off to recover.
Oh no no no. The Philips and the AD10 are already too similar in construction. I was thinking Grado drivers in the AD10s would be entertaining. Did you ever try them in the Aiwa frames?
I just noticed something interesting. The Sen HD600s have a hollow pole piece in the driver (light shines from the back right through the middle of the voice coil). This would eliminate some pesky HF standing waves under the dome. I haven't noticed this in other drivers (except the K1000, which is a very different animal).
No plugging! Sennheiser went to a lot of expense to put that passage in there. It has foam in it to keep dust out, but it is a true "open" design, allowing the evil backwave to pass through and dump to ambient, even from the critical center dome. AT did the same on the AD10. It may be common, but I haven't noticed it before. Another thing to check when I have phones apart from now on.
