Very little information on them but the look sweet. It seems to be part of a package with a sound app jvc developed /
Dont know any specs on them just that they use a special wood from old submerged trees count me interested. v05.jpg v06.jpg v07.jpg v08.jpg v10.jpg v11.jpg

Interesting thanks for the post. Some out of the head localization thing. Limited to 300 units with option to reserve one ( for the Premium pack only ) seems to include the portable amp and some tunes.
But this 300 batch you have to go to Victor Studios and get your custom measured setting.
900,000 yen!

seems the WM30 is out after that.( 300,000 yen ...)

someone said they heard them.

JVC did it again! I'm a huge fan of JVC headphones, don't get me wrong... But sometimes it seems they have a madman(in a positive, innovative way) running their headphone division.

"Let's make Carbon nanotube drivers for $30 on ear headphones.

" Why not use wood as diaphgram for our totl headphones. "

"We should make headphones out of submerged trees, and add some custom tuning amplifier"

Making bassiest headphones ever with double drivers is mundane for those guys.

Hit 'translate' (if using chrome) and scroll down for some more product info.

Looks like most of the cost goes into the personalised service.
I wonder if they might release the headphone for sale separately from the service at some point later.

Yes the headphone release aside from the initial limited service is 300,000 yen from what i can tell.

Looks like that is the headphones-only cost
. At least that i can tell.

What I got from the translation is that currently both 900K and 300K provide different services.
The first services you and 4 'families' of your choosing.
The 'cheaper' service, only measures your own profile for use with the mobile app.

No word on a stand alone headphone release at this point it seems.

Going by the info here: https://www.phileweb.com/news/d-av/201705/11/41165.html
It looks like it might be a combination of personalised profiles combined with stereo speaker DSP.

So maybe something like a much more complicated higher spec combination of Sony VIP-1000 (stereo speaker DSP) and AKG N90Q (personal sound measurement).

Isn't the 300,000 yen option the standalone?

I doubt it will sound much like the DX1000, due to shallower cups, larger ear pad opening and different driver size (looks very similar to their studio monitor drivers).
Mostly likely a different beast altogether.
Hopefully now that it's available as a standalone product, we'll get some impressions soon, but I doubt we'll see measurements for a long time.

If anyone wants to send me their unit for a free measuring service, I'll be more than happy to oblige.
