Didn't compare to D8000 but have listened/compare with D8000Pro using hugo2 for 5~10min about 3 month ago (so might not be very accurate this time).
WM90 definity is more V shape with much heavier bass, D8000pro have more details and not sharp.

Vocal of WM90 will be very depend on the source, on ZX300 it is more soft (or blurry for some people), with hugo 2 and tt2 is more clear (a little dry for me).
Changing the cable (I use VDH SCS18) make the sound become brighter but doesn't affect the tonality (not very sure how to explain this correctly, originally it sound a little dark like having something in between my ear and headphone)

it is a speaker cable, I buy it as bulk cable and make it by my self, I would not really recommend it since it is kind of thick and hard...
I think there one or two reviews on e-earphone or kakaku.com talk about recable, you might want to check that

What kind of cable do you think would sound similar? Silver to brighten it up a bit, or hybrid?

second hand market or overpriced ebay sales...

you can also use some service to transport the item from japan to your country (I'm not sure about other country. We use buyee, bibian, world-exp and tenso in Taiwan)

A quick update.. just get back to home so I can listen to my headphones.

I ordered a cable of WIZMUSIC90, and SU-AX01 so it will be more closer to the WIZMUSIC90 combo (just without the head measurement and software).

I peronally like this combo a lot, the punch of bass is slightly reduced and not as sharp as paring with other DAP (such as M3X).

Tried to compared with yamaha YH5000SE (with l7a) during last week.
Although YH5000 has more details and more "precise" vocal, I still choose WM90 more due to the feeling of bass and I prefer the vocal that is more thick (at least compare to YH5000) and soft.

Wizmusic? I think they ended not only because su-ax7 and su-ax01 are discontinued and exofield stuff may required lots of resources (and maybe not many people buying those two packs?).

I was hoping the exofield data for xp-ext1 can be imported to wizmuisc app. JVC said no but if anyone tried and found out it is working, please let me know.
