Nippon Victor announces the sale of its latest HP-FX300 Stereo Mini Headphones will commence from November 2007. These beautiful and ergonomically designed headphones are designed to reproduce treble quality digital sound faithfully with individual acoustic technology. The headphones are engineered to produce vibration free noise. There is no information about the piece yet. Stay tuned for updates.

The new headset has an aluminum body, with a new insulation gel that will erase any kind of undesired vibration; this is needed in order to provide listeners with the best sound possible. This HP-FX300 works on an 8Hz-25kHz range with 100dB for 1mW, with a weight of 5.6g. These headsets will be available in Japan in November for 62€.

Well, this looks like a nice new offering from JVC. I wonder how they will sound.

"The headphones are engineered to produce vibration free noise."

While I understand what they mean by this, I feel that it is a given for any quality set of plugs/cans to have "vibration free" sound that doesn't rattle in your ears. From the looks of it, though, they don't appear to be another set of over-glorified marshmallows; the design is quite nice, and looks to be another over-the-ear set to kill the microphonics :-)

wow im digging those, ill be more confident in thier quality if they got a premium price tag, if they are another entry level iem im sure they will be brushed off.

i think vibration free means the tickling sensation that you get at high volumes with most iems.

i got horrible tickling in my ears from the se530 until i put the black foams on and that was eliminated.

also are they dynamic or armature based, because they are wild claims for armature drivers,8hz-25khz, from the design i would strongly believe they are dynamic which would seem the cheap option, bringing these down another notch

I wonder when Etymotic is going to start seeing the handwriting on the wall? HELLO! There is a lot of competition coming to this segment of the market. It may be past time for a product that is "dfferent/better".

etymotic research dosnt care how 50 cent or shakira sounds on a per of ER-4i what they care about is that they manufacture the most accurate monitoring tool in existance with 92% accuracy, atleast thats what someone here mentioned, the etys are for analitical listening, not for fun listening, thats why the same headphones have been selling for 16 years, ety allredy cornered the market they wanted, and then they made the ER-6i for those who wanted something more fun,

The FX300's will be their current high end. They are cheaper though; target price 9,800Yen or around US$85. Figure $99 or $109 at Audiocubes, and the other importers when they first come out(< a month). They are a 3 series so probably the better 500/700 will follow. Victor may(my speculation) follow Audio-technica and make those using armatures. These are Aluminum coated dynamics drivers. The ones pictured above, I believe, will be JVC branded for Europe(and possibly North America?) and come in the black, red, and gold.

All the vibration reducing gel, collar, etc. are needed since they use the aluminum housing. Metal gives a better sound than plastic but can have frequency vibrations. The same effect as the Grado 325i mod where you slide the big rubber washer over the metal housing to kill resonances.

Well not sure what that means but among all the IEM I have heard, till now, I still prefer the Etys among them...also the new creations they made with Altec and other companies are quite nice, what means IMO that they at least know very well what they are doing there...

I can give a brief review.

I got a few beta samples to play with. The drivers are within a sandwiched between brass and steel rings within an aluminum casing. I believe the benefits of this is to drain vibration as well as reduce sympathetic resonance away from the driver. The end result is a warm and smooth sound a kin to what I'd describe as an EL84 or EL34 tube sound. The highs are a bit muted, but the mid range is full and lush.

The cabling is an over the ear affair. I thought that is a bit funky at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly after walking around the house with it on for a few hours.

I haven't compared it with any other in the ear monitors. I have a Senn HD520II which I do prefer over the JVCs. The Senn has "free-er" highs and slightly better sound staging. I wouldn't take the Senns out of the house though as they are not very compact.

I think the JVCs are very good for travel and long term listening.
