I am hoping someone can help - I am in the market for a new portable player. Moving from a pioneer pdp 300r, which has just died.

I typically use Shure 840 IEM’s with both balanced or unbalanced.

Would like something that has good storage option, liked that the pioneer has dual micro slots.

Musical tastes vary from r&b to jazz and anything in between.

Was about to hit button on a&k Ak70 my Ii - but then someone suggested opus 1s - so now confused. Typical budget $1000 unless someone tells me I need to spend more.

Appreciate if someone could give me a recommendation as seems lots of players on the market today.

Hello, if you care the battery, i suggest Sony z300, but you need 4.4 balanced cable.

Thanks will have a look at the Sony - but prefer Not to have additional cables - I travel quite a bit so want to keep accessories to a minimum.

if you using 2.5 balanced cable, just buy a 4.4 balanced connector. It wont be expensive
