hello everybody
i am new here and want to replace my crappy iPod earbuds.
my budget is around $70
I listen to mainly hip hop and some other genres.
I want to have something that i can use for my iPod and my computer.
I have my eye on some senn. PX100's.
any suggestions?
much appreciated.

the PX100's are very good for entry phones. If you like rock you can't go wrong with the Grado SR60's.

Personally I think you'd be very satisfied with investing $20 on the Koss KSC-75's.

u could prolly get much better headphones for 70$ than the px100, hell jbl 410 are much better than them for hip hop.. they have some real nice bass needed for hip hop.. but are not that good for other genres that require detail.. they cost like only 30$.. so px100 would be prolly a bad idea..

Save for something a bit better, $150ish can get you Senn 595s, AKG K601s, or Grados. $70 isnt much if you want high quality sound.

X2

I really wish I had saved a little more for my first pair. Don't get me wrong, I love my SR-60's, but I'm now saving up for a much better mid-range set up. Buy a pair of KSC-75, mod them with a headband if you don't like the ear-clips, and then save for a better pair.

If I had to have just one headphone (and I could stand the noisy environment), I would take my KSC-75's.

I know this might not change your mind. But, if you're a "one-can-kind-of-person", then I don't want you to be disappointed.

just get the px-100 and be done with this place... or else you shall be finding yourself in deep water soon enough!

koss portapro is also a bit bassier from what i read. but at the cost of a funky look... and maybe a wee less comfort.

Hur...border-line hi-fi sound can be found with Grado SR-60s. They look and sound better than px100s, but are more expensive at your borderline budget; 69$ on amazon. The sound can be described like "chocolate"...kind of deep and rich, but with mids and highs that won't disappoint most.

Otherwise you can just listen to the others and get some ksc75s and mod them, or the brother-models that only have different enclosures/bands. Your initial choice of the senheisser px100s is not shabby; just go for them if you want to keep your money safe.
