Hi all,

I have a Creative X-Fi Soundblaster XtremeGamer sound card.  I used to have HD-555's that I used with them.  Awhile back, my HD-555s broke, so I bought a Logitech G35 headset.  Well, I want to get back to headphones, so I am looking for a recommendation for a pair that won't cost much more than $100, and will work well with the card I have.  (btw, is that card any good?)  Also curious if anyone has any specific good experiences with a clip-on mic, I have a mic I used to use with the HD-555s, but it is kind of crappy so I would be willing to get a new one with new headphones.  Thanks for your time!

Are they really great for gaming? Most reviews I am seeing are people using them for music, and I do not listen to music, I just play games.

I never use my pair for gaming. They clamp hard and are not comfortable for long periods of use. Bass is also way too loud compared to the rest of the audible spectrum.

Under $100, I'd go with the ATH-AD700 if you're okay with open headphones. Consider the Citiscape Uptowns if you prefer closed.

I had the AD700 too when I was gaming, they were great for localization (basically the most important thing for gaming).
