Hi

I am looking at buying new headphones and i will only use them for FPS gaming.
I was looking at headphones in the range of 100-150 USD, mostly at brands like Beyerdynamic, ATK , Sennheiser and Audio Technica but then i stumbled across the Samson SR850 for just 35 USD and saw that they have received good reviews so now I am a little bit confused about what to do...

Since i will only use them for gaming i find comfort and positioning of the enemy to be the two most important things.
So are the Samsons good enough for gaming and have big/good enough sound stage or should i get something else?

My criteria are
- Comfortable (Today i have Qpad QH-90 witch i find comfortable)
- Open back (Have closed today)
- Big/Good enough sound stage to easily locate enemy (Gunshots, Steps etc.)
- Can be used with my integrated soundcard on my motherboard, MSI z87 G45 Gaming, it has Realtek ALC1150 with Audio Boost (Built in AMP)

Regards Dennis

I would say to go for the Samson SR850, as it's only $35, you can always upgrade from it, at a later date.

I doubt for a $70 budget, your going to find something better sounding. then the Samson (made by Superlux) or Superlux or Takstar brands.
With a name brand, if it stops function, spending the cost of shipping for warranty repair and the possible 30 day down time, may not be worth it, as a new replacement (SR850) is only another $35.
For a $70 budget, I might to find a used Sennheiser HD558, i bought a $15 aftermarket cable (3.5mm plug) for my HD558.

Can i buy HD558 not used? Maybe i can pay 100$ because i think you are right. What do you think about 100$ headphones for gaming? (Not used)

it would help to know the make and model of headphones available to you, for $100?
Not sure the HD558 is still being made, I guess the HD559 is it's replacement.
