Hi there,
I got interesting information regarding new amps.
New Japanese audio manufacture which name is "izo" has been developing new headphone amplifier and small digital amplifier. The names are "R.Spec" and "V.Spec" ,respectively.

"R.Spec" is headphone amp and CG generated image is here;

Switch on the right toggles input gain and left switch is for digital/analog switching. Yes,"R.Spec" has a USB connection ability.

"V.Spec" picture is here;

The housing is made from all metal(aluminium) and weigh almost 1Kg(2.2lb) by housing alone.
They are also planning on dedicated power supply for those units. That is, three units are stackable with each other(see small stack hole on the case).
Price is not determined but I heard the target range is below 100,000 yen. Availability is also not determined yet but it would not be so far future.

This is all that I have so far.
If I get further information, such as availability for US market, I will update.

Is the v.Spec a DAC or just a speaker amp?

Very cool looking...reminds me a bit of the older Musical Fidelity X-Series.

Definitely keep us posted on these.

Regarding US availability, they told me that they want to sell this in the US market but they do not have US distributor, hence no concrete plan at this moment.

Addition, one thing to change to my previous information.
Headphone amp R.Spec have digital connection but does not have USB connection.
Sorry about this...

Those look awesome. More new gear is never a bad thing. The amount of new headphone-related equipment rushing into the market in just the last year has been really shocking. Headphones are really taking off, it seems!

Yep, and you can thank the iPod for that.
