I went with the TH-X00 as well and I agree, the matt finish is much better. I also like the detachable cable. I have the Denon 5000 and they're developing a fault and it's just a pain to get these fixed... But I doubt these will be on par re. price with the TH-X00. They'll be $600-$700 RRP I suspect.

  good for you. i find matte finish looks used, cheap and ugly. to each own i guess.

 
Yep, it is good for me.  I'm glad that I have good taste.  BTW, I was merely providing a counterpoint and my own opinion to the gent who stated that he prefers the glossy finish.  "To each their own," indeed.  Your response of, "good for you," makes you sound like a child.
