Hmm I hope it’s not the same like with the focal clear mg with the recessed treble.

The clear mg lost the sparkle and clarity. For me in direct comparison the og is much better. I love a good amount of bass, but without the sparkle the mg lost its magic, too.

Could be that it’s the same with the new Utopia.
"While the new headphone sounds more balanced, it does lose some of the magic – particularly in the treble – of the old. The old Utopia had a distinctive sound signature and this new one trades some of that uniqueness for a sound that I think more people will find appealing."

That's a quote from the review linked above. I'll stick to my "old" Utopia (purchased in March 22). I don't want to lose the magic.

@BowWazoo
Hehe you were faster :)

If Focal removes their purposeful design of having the driver distort at lower frequencies with slightly higher volumes, I might be interested.

I hope some people here will be able to chime in on that issue once it has been out a bit longer.

FR response Clear Mg and new Utopia are dangerous close. Clear Mg (stock pads) are too laid back and treble shy.
I am sure...you will be surpriced...that the Turbo Utopia is not treble shy and bright enough...because its clean....and not washed out sounding as the MG

I also meant the tonality.
For me it is completely meaningless,
as you know.
But for most people it will probably be a problem...

The best thing is to go to Oratory right away.😬

Yes Tonality is very important 👍...there is a very special and great sounding headphone from USA 👍
But when it comes to the technical properties,about Speed,Atack/Punch...the Planars models will not be able to compete with France
And last but not least...it works on any Dap (the one from US Unfortunately not)

So, Jude's video says the new Utopia is "wider and airier" and also has less treble. Am I the only one who thinks those things are at odds with each other? 🤔

I am sure that everyone will say that the Utopia sound brighter and resolving when compared to the MG 🤣

PS.And the measurements what i have made with my Turbo Utopia also look different 😉

@Nomax

well then I'm curious.
I expect a very lively used market,
and lurk already times in the bushes.
That will certainly be similar to the LCD 5
