Hello, I have the audio technica ath-pro500mk2 headphone and I do not like the earpads that are on them. The pads are about 3" in diameter. (I have cotton shoved underneath the pads for comfort but it's not doing the job.) does anyone know of any pads that are the same size? Thanks

I'd give some HM5 pads a try. They fit the ATH M50 well, as well as a few other cans, so they could be what you're looking for.. You can get em over at Mp4nation.com.. Or some Shure 1540 earpads if you want something softer and made from fabric.

MP4NT has for sale three different kinds of HM5 earpads:
stock (http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-hm5-spare-earpad-1pc)
thicker (http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-hm5-thick-memory-foam-earpad-suitable-for-large-over-the-ear-headphones-1pc)
and velour (http://www.mp4nation.net/brainwavz-hm5-velor-memory-foam-earpad-suitable-for-other-large-over-the-ear-headphones-1pc)

I wouldn't suggest the velours at all from MP4nation if you don't wanna change the sound of your cans.

I've never used the pro500 personally, so I couldn't tell you. You can try asking here though: http://www.head-fi.org/t/639510/the-ear-pads-thread

Yes. It's like trying to fit a rectangle on a circumference. I would give a try to Beyerdynamic earpads, or try to change for headphones with oval/rectangular earpads. Our ears aren't perfectly circular, so a more stretched shaped might help

Actually I've read a review of the Soundmagic HP100, which has round pads, and the buyer adapted the HM5 earpads to it. So yeah, it is possible, but honestly I don't know how it can be done
