NEW - Campfire Comet and Atlas

Atlas are the one IEM that made investing in custom silicone tips from the other CA (Custom Art) worthwhile. Not got them any more, but it used to lock them in my ears tightly, and didn't have any of the pressure seal / driver lock issues you get with normal non foam tips either. They lived on my Atlas until the day I moved it on to a relative. Still miss the sound occasionally - fantastic IEM for enjoying the music.

They are good and I miss them quite a bit for out and about, but I wouldn’t say they are worth the original RRP In this market. If you can get a hold of the for between 6-700 then they are a steal imo
6-700 is overpriced for them. I bought my mint atlas almost 4 yrs ago for just $380.

That a bit tricky question. At one hand i really do like them being in my rotation after close to 4 yrs of ownership. All the people that have tried it also love it. But truthfully speaking, they have a glaring flaw and its the finnicky fit. They are heavy and being a bullet type it bogs you down fast.
I've also read there's a lot of driver flex, is it part of the fit issue ?

Anyone compared them to the Denon AH-D9200 by any chance ?
I'm looking for the same sound signature in IEMs form, strong bass but not over the top, transparent mids but not dull, sparkling trebbles but not harsh.
I don't like wearing IEMs with the cable over the ear so it reduce the options quite a bit in the kinda TOTL market :/

There's a used pair for $350 (but they are not mint, many scuffs on them), that's why i'm considering them.

Agreed. While I have gotten some full size cans TH900, still enjoy Atlas quite a bit for low level listening in bed at night. They are nice low level because of the forward bass

Are the Atlas still worth it in 2023 ?
Yes. They still are quite relevant due to the very entertaining mid bass presence. Not many IEMS possess the impact and slam in the low and mid bass region, especially B/A design drivers.

The Atlas are a fun listen. I recommend having them in rotation with another pair of IEMS that are lighter in bass and have a stronger and better treble refinement.

They cost 899 USD new. They used to be 1299 USD new. Being in the lower cost sub 1K make them worth it in my opinion. I’ve had mine for 4 years now. Never selling them.

Atlas sing their best with Mojo2. EQ on they’re absolutely great with Atlas. Glad I still have them. Sound excellent at low level in bed though Mojo2

EQ on Mojo2 meant

Understood, what freq bands do you EQ on the Mojo 2?
On average, 0 to +2 on the first or second band, depending on the track. Atlas doesn’t typically need much if any bass. Albums like Daft Punk RAM zero. Treble, varies depending on music. Might be none. Older rock album. Might be +2 on shelf and +6 on indigo 4th.

I never cut with simple filter set up as this. Doesn’t sound natural

Im really sorry for not replying. I was on hiatus for a few months due to exams and such. I hope my long overdue reply is still relevant (even if it isn't, I'd like to answer as much as possible). Yes the atlas is rather prone to flexing but it should be a none-issue once you find the proper tips (and size) which would depend per person but i personally rotate between tips depending on what i want (currently on final type e mainly because i was a-b'ing a bunch of iems.

As for the ad9200, i can't really say for sure as I've yet to try one. From your description of your preferred signature, i dont think these will suffice. I'll be blunt on them, they tend to have a rather heavy midrange i may have said otherwise back then but with my bias for signatures back to zero i can say for sure these are not transparent sounding. There will be a fair bit of veil in the vocals. Aside from that theres warmth hugging you from all corners (similar to how the empyrean is) .

Driver flex. Yes. I just keep re inserting the dogged things til it is gone

They also sing loud and proud with the ASTELL&KERN KANN MAX using the balanced 4.4mm option. ☺️✌️

Got the Atlas this week and let me say I'm totally delighted with it. I have the OG Andromeda and the Atlas brings the bass and musicality at a level that I can't explain.

Earlier today I did a "reality check" while listening to it and switched to the Aful P5 and Bluelover... OMG, that's why the Andromeda and Atlas are TOTL IEMs... It's another level, they are the two I'll probably never sell.

I also had a fantastic fit with large tips (which I usually wear) from Tri Clarion. The IEMs are so quick to put on and get a great seal and also don't get.even close to dropping like some people say.

I just consider it my best iem.

I agree! Im never selling my atlas. Aside from them sounding very fun, they are work horses. I've dropped mine a lot but it still works without a hitch!
