Thank you for the comment. Finals for me are are total driver-flex nightmare, could be my ears or perhaps my Atlas is more sensitive to flex.

Finals that came with this are on my Fiio FH7, they work great on that iem for me.
Try other sizes of the finals thats what happened to me when i used the medium sized on mine. Now i use the 2nd largest and poof no more flex.

Cuz other than the marshmallows i cant really find any tips that alleviate the occlusion effect on the atlas.

I always use foams of some sort on campfires bassier IEM’s. I find this improves timbre and gets rid of any driver flex… I believe these are the types of tips that @KB tunes these IEM’s with. I prefer symbio F’s

Prior to my medium mallows breaking, it was my primary tips on the atlas. Tried using the large but my ear would always hurt after an hour of using it.

Yeah I get the same with the large symbios… I think it’s just a matter of getting a size smaller but sometimes that can make them too small. Also the density of the foam is a big factor in comfort I think. Symbio foams and marshmallows are fairly dense compared to others I’ve tried. Another brand to check out and whose sizes come up slightly smaller are “blackbird” foam tips, they are less dense and are probably the best I’ve tried for comfort outside of complys.

I basically never use foam tips, but I found even the larger silicone tips gave me driver flex. I tried the inverse of the earlier poster and found the best fit and comfort with the smallest ePro Horn tips which let me deep insert without building up as much backpressure in the ear canal.

I use spiral dots++

Gotta find the right ones for the individual.

A couple of tips:
-when i insert the Atlas i pull up thr top tip of my ear and then pull back. This opens up the ear canal and then insert the Atlas. Less trapped air than shoving them in.

- also moving the Atlas whilst inserted if not happy. Move it up, down, back and forth to break the seal and release any excess air etc

I know what you mean. I use the Comply foam tips. I happen to use Large and they’re awesome.
No issues whatsoever.

Just a little heads up after a few frustrated months with the Atlas.

I own a pair of E5000 and e3000 series iems from Final and the medium Final tips are a perfect match to my ears. I can literally wear them 24/7 without irritations or the buds falling out of my ears while drinking/eating.

So on the Atlas I obviously picked the Final tips and there my frustrations began. The tip canal gets blocked to easily on insertion, audio pops back in after second when the tips adjust themselves. After a few minutes the weight of the Atlas buds are pressing to my ears thanks to the flexible and narrow core of the tips. And the worst part of it al is that the weight of the buds is pulling them out of my ears constantly.

So I thought that foamies where the only solution. Ordered some proper Dekoni tips and most of my problems where solved, bjt a new one appeared. To much ****ing pressure from the foamies in my canal after 30 tp 60 minutes

...crap what now? I absolutely love the Atlas to death but the weight and straight down wearing design is causing so many issues.

JVC dots then? 1st gen? or 2nd gen? after seeing the prices on ebay I went for the cheaper 1st gen dots that go for $15 (3pr) with free shipping from JP. After 1 week it arrived in my mailbox and finally all of my irritations are solved. Perfect fit, grip, weight distribution and last but not least the best sounding tips that I have tried.

So please if you own a pair and like me can prefer silicone over foam please give the JVC Dots a chance.

I struggled too, i found that going from my normal medium sized tips to a Azla SednaEarfit XELASTEC totally transformed the comfort and sound, when used with the ifi xdsd, its awesome, but i am a base trance head!

I also were very annoyed, at the point to think to sell them.. I then solved using smaller size of the final tips.
I also have jvc spiral, since I have jvc850 from long time. to me they sound too dark.. or to bassy and mellow.. and I am a basshead!

The trick to the Atlas was is the ear tips you use, as I said, I would have sworn I was a medium , turns out with atlas I have to use a large.

I really like the Atlas sound, but living with them is easier, no left or right and no over ear wires , I just can’t do the over ear wires.

Came across this yesterday-- the Atlas was my first foray into high end IEMs and still one of the most uniquely captivating designs I've seen

It was 3 years ago this month that I purchased mine:

Rekindling an old love. Ive had so many instances where ive tried to put my atlas up for sale just to take the post down after a few days! But now... ever since ive upgraded over to the cayin n8, its the only iem in my arsenal thats actually getting any use! Bass hits like a truck but never intrudes the other frequencies (unlike with my wm1a). Ive also stuck back its stock cable because they sound so good on the n8. I also got me a new pair of tips, they isolate really well turning the atlas to a ba iem. They do sound a tad bit spicy in the treble but i do prefer me some spice to balance out the humongous bass wall. It is truly addictive to listen. The new tips have a really short shaft but the wing is 2x as long as the shaft. They were added as a complimentary from my aural definition kyrios+ iem sadly they wont tell me what brand it is from D: (though i am glad they gave me 2 sets of each)

Such a terrific post here. Love hearing about great experiences with the ATLAS. I’ve had mine for 2 years now and I use them everywhere outside of home, especially commutes to work. They’re awesome. Truly grateful.
Tip selection is a super important part of the Atlas. It's really unfortunate that one can't experiment with tips because the weight and bore size limit what you can use.

When I get the resources, I'm really looking forward to getting CIEM tips made for the Atlas.
Do share your impressions with the CIEM tips please! Love to see what they will look like. :)
