I just got the C&C Box + headphone Amp a few days ago.
Sounds nice for the price, and its small and looks like quality and the whole bit.....

Anyway, yesterday i decided to test the amp with the Zune on a high level and amp low,,,then compare it with the Zune on a low level and the amp high.

Well when i turned the amp all the way up,it was sticky the last 20% of the turn or so, like scratchy feeling.

I really dont want to have to send it back and wait forever to get it back.
Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem with a C&C amp,,,and if ya think i should just lube the volume pot,or send it to them for repair/replacement?

It sounds fine even in the rough spot,so i dont know. Thats the only problem i have with it, otherwise the thing is great for $109 really.

Is it hard to turn or does it just make a scratchy sound? If just scratchy then the volume control surface is a little dirty and I would run the volume control back and forth a few times or more. This can often clean off the offending surface that is making the noise when you use the volume control.

It gets slightly hard to turn in that spot. The amp is only a few days old.
I dont hear scratchiness in the headphones at all...i only feel it get harder to turn and feel a scratchy feeling when i turn it. The amp is perfectly clear through the headphones through the whole turn of the volume pot.
I figure its just some dryness or dust and some lubricated cleaning spray might help, but i didnt want to open the amp during warranty. I wanted to see if this was a common problem.
Thanks for the reply.

Ok...the volume pot bothered me and i had to play with it . I kept turning it and realized that it was just the knob touching the faceplate-hole lightly,so i loosened the screws a bit and retightened them and the faceplate moved just enough to remove itself from touching the knob, and the scratchiness is gone.
Yayyyy!!! I dont have to send it back!!!
