Well guys I've joined this awesome club.  After owning the LCD2 for a year and a half I've made the jump to a 2016 LCD3.

I'm pretty familiar with the LCD3 as I always give it a listen at meets, but of course it's a different experience actually being able to lay down with it and listen uninterrupted in silence

Notes:  I'm surprised to hear that while the LCD3 bass is cleaner overall, it doesn't have the same quantity as the LCD2.  I've always heard people say this but I never noticed at meets, where I'm probably turning up the volume and not reaching listening fatigue.  The bass however has better tone and more detail.

The midrange is much nicer and more effortless than the LCD2, which could have a lot of grain and shoutiness to it.  The 3 flat out picks up on a lot of midrange cues the 2 would seem to miss that even an old headphone like the Koss 950 could pick up. The treble of the LCD2 also had a bit too much tactility to its peaks.  While the LCD3 has the same 10k peak, the treble is much softer and in control.

While not very stat-like, the 3 driver feels more effortless and has a better effect of the music just floating within the cups, with things from the recording appearing and disappearing seamlessly.  The 4 does this really well, too

A MUCH nicer low volume listen

I'll bet it's your amp! Does it happen to be a Schiitt tube amp? My 3s sound great in every way with my Burson CV2+.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Has anyone heard both the Auralic Taurus Mk2 and Schitt Ragnarok on LCD-3s? I'm trying to decide between them.

I'd consider the Audio-gd Master 9, or better yet the Master 11 and you'll get another DAC thrown in at the same price range.

What do you find lacking in your current cable?

Only have Taurus MK2 and love it with lcd3. The auralic is much more compact and not getting so warm like ragnarok. Maybe second hand is a good option...

Still have the stock cable and want to improve sound signature with a better cable.

I think you should read this:

Just curious to know if anyone has compared the lcd3 and the Focal Elear. I am trying to make a decision here and any comments will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Look into the focal posts I think there is a comparison.
