Got my repaired/RMA'd LCD-3 back after almost 7 weeks without them. Hurray!  

But, this is not the LCD-3 I remembered! The sound is harsh and boring, I have to turn down the volume due to the harsh treble.

  Almost switched back to my LCD-2r2. OK, I've upgraded my DAC from DA11 to Hilo, but still, and DA11 is even a tad brighter than Hilo.

BUT, after 50 hours of burn-in my precious LCD-3 is back! What a change. 

Compared to my old pre-RMA non-vieled LCD-3 the sound is perhaps a little bit more "even" (bass to treble) with a little more sizzle at the top. Hard to say without switching back to DA11.

I'll let them burn-in a couple of weeks.

The cost?

The Bryston sounds fantastic with the LCD. I've not heard the Schiit gear but a Lyr is about a third the cost. How do they compare?

I hope it doesn't have a lot of other skin color calibration pictures. The skin I wanna see is brown premium lambskin...
