so confused, what is this for?

As the description says, for Sony WM1ZM2 and WM1AM2 daps, 4.4mm adapter which adds a ground pin. Sony WM1Z/A M2 daps have 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone jacks, but the balanced 4.4mm only has L+/L-/R+/R- without GND being connected :frowning2: This adapter brings GND from 3.5mm jack and balanced pairs from 4.4mm jack to 4.4mm TRRRS socket with a proper grounding. PWA did the same for the original WM1Z/A and now for M2.

The 4 different versions are based on wires used inside of corresponding adapters, from regular PWA copper wires to 1960s, First Times, and their flagship Orpheus (thus a difference in pricing).

Does it affect if 4.4mm cables which do not use the ground pin?

It shouldn't, and in that case you don't even need this type of adapter.
