Nice video! Of course I am very interested to read how these sound but I am also interested to know if the earpads are the same size as the K701s and if so, how the 701s sound with the K550 earpads.

Too bad it does not come with a detachable cable.  That would have been a big plus.  At the price point a bad would be nice too, although they don't come with the Q 701 either. 
 
Was mildly surprised that this level of can was made in China.  My recently purchased Q 701 was made in Austria.  I hope AKG's Chinese based manufacturing and quality control is top notch.  It seems to have worked for Denon.  Not so much for some other companies manufacturing (various) products over there.

This may be the top of the line Closed Back AKG headphones. Bios quality is very very good. I am a bit surprised by the Made in China too.

I'm interested in these too.  I just purchased the Beyer DT660's, I will review them soon after they arrive sometime next week.  But then I saw these and Headroom just put up the frequency response for these K550's.  These look comfy, also the frequency chart looks like they might sound good...

IMO, for the amount of money to buy this thing, the accessories seems lacking. Since on the box, it says "can be easily transported" or something to that effect, one would assume at least a pouch or something to be included.

I really love the styling of the AKG K550, I find the fact that it doesn't have a detachable cable a little off-putting, but I suppose it's not a dealbreaker.

No detachable cable is silly IMO. No carrying pouch is also dumb. Give me a little head time with these. I will do a video review soon. Thanks for your interest.
