New 2-4GB Shuffles comin'?

Oh well, it not like I would use it for anything but running (I think, still waiting for it to arrive) and 1gb will be sufficient.

I can imagine how much they would cost. Except for size, it would be a lot better to go with the Mini. Prices for the 512 and 1 gig should be coming down then.

The price, exactly. A lot of higher end 1GB flash players already start off at around $199 MSRP (ex Iriver). I've seen 4gb usb flash drives go for $400 bucks alone. I wonder how they plan on marketing these players. With a 4gb shuffle on well, um shuffle mode, I don't think that I would ever hear the same song twice

Ai, a modest lowering of the price would be welcome. I played with the idea of having a Shuffle dangeling on my Keyring so it would *always* be there, ready to serve me in all those "real" iPod unfriendly situations, like the short bus trip to the cinema, or when out in the bars & clubs. I won't believe it before I see it though, 2GB maybe, but I'd rather expect a 4GB solid-state iPod mini.

I think the idea of a flash based mini in the 4GB range makes more sense.

It could be lighter and smaller (perhaps half sized) and have a screen which you really do need with that much music. Having a 1GB really does push the limits of the design and if I was to do it over i'd go 512mb

What could be cool (and possible) would be for the screen and the scroll wheel to be the same, maybe with the function buttons on the side.
